Pizza Party

by Anonymouson RecipesNovember 9thhas no comments yet! »

Marijuana Pizza RecipeThis recipe is about as easy as it gets. Go to the store and buy yourself 1 frozen pizza or a pre-made fresh pizza.

Open the package and sprinkle your marijuana evenly over the entire pizza.

Grate any kind of cheese you like and totally cover the marijuana that you just sprinkled on. Make sure that none of the marijuana is showing through. This is important because you do not want to burn the marijuana. Then just follow the normal cooking instructions but add about 5 minutes or so to the cooking time because of the extra cheese that was added.

This recipe is really awsome. The THC gets dissolved into the oil from the cheese and you will get a great high from just a couple slices. Feel free to add any other ingredients, such as pepperoni, sausage, or anything else you like on top of the cheese.

Clones Or Seeds – Where To Start?

by Anonymouson Growing MarijuanaOctober 22ndhas no comments yet! »

Medical Marijuana Clone PlantsWhen you first decide to grow your own medical marijuana there are a number of decisions you will be faced with. There are a number of considerations you must address when beginning this growing adventure. One of the first decisions you must make is whether you will be starting from seeds or clones. They both have pros and cons and we will do our best to provide you with the information you need to make an educated decision below.

Advantages Of Starting With Clones

  • If you are in a hurry, clones will vegetate and flower faster than if you start from seeds. This will give you a quicker harvest and allow you to enjoy your work much quicker.
  • Clones can be grown into mother plants allowing you to re-cloned them, giving you an instant vegetative and flowering crop!
  • Genetically, clones are identical to the mother plant. However, some differences can be found in the phenotype. Don’t worry though because your clones will exhibit even growth and growing characteristics.
  • Rooted clones can be flowered immediately if space or time is a problem.
  • Clones can quickly provide you with the characteristics of your specific strain. Things like: smell, vigor, branching pattern, sativa/indica dominance, rooting quality, etc).

Disadvantages Of Starting With Clones

  • Clones are not always easy to find and unless you know the source you could end up with just about anything. If starting with clones make sure you know the source and quality of the grower’s root clones.
  • If you don’t know the source of your clones then you run the risk of inheriting the problems from the last grower. This could include: root rot, spider mites, powdery mildew, etc. This could be devasting if these problems are not identified and treated immediately as they could quickly spread to your entire crop.
  • If your clones are not healthy when you receive them they could die or remain in shock for an extended period of time.
  • If you buy your clones out of state and they are shipped to you they could already be in shock and take weeks to recover, if they recover at all.
  • Clones take some time to become established and are more sensitive to light than seeds. They are also easily burned by excessive light and nutrients.
  • Most clones are female so breeding options are limited. Hermies are possible as well if you have unstable clone crosses.

Advantages Of Starting With Seeds:

  • If you get your seeds obtained from a reputable seed bank you are assured of known lineage and genetics. Knowing this will give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of yield, quality and flowering time.
  • With seeds you have the option of breeding and crossing with male seeds. Feminized seeds will certainly produce a higher percentage of female seeds, but you are never guaranteed 100% female seeds.
  • Female plants that are grown from seeds often have higher yields than plants grown from clones.
  • Generally, seeds should produce healthy plants, free of disease and pests.

Disadvantages Of Starting With Seeds:

  • Quality seeds can be expensive, not just the cost of the seed pack, but in the time and effort required to produce a flowered crop.
  • There have been problems with ripoffs, shipping/customs seizing seed bank deliveries, and switched seeds.
  • Unstable hybrid strains
  • Not all seeds will be viable (germinate) and only 50% of the unfeminized seeds will be female (feminized seeds may produce up to 90% females). Only female seeds will produce female mothers, from which productive clones can be taken and flowered.
  • It could take many seed packs to finally come across an excellent mother plant.
  • Seeds are time intensive and require more labor, and money before a harvest occurs and you see a return on your investment. Seeds need to be germinated and grown into mother plants. Then you must take clones from each mother plant, label them and determine which mother is female. Then you must decide which one is the best mother plant and optionally trash, smoke or sell the rest.

Colorado Medical Marijuana Caregiver

by Anonymouson InformationOctober 17thhas no comments yet! »

In most states including Colorado, a medical marijuana caregiver is a person that provides medical marijuana (medical cannabis) to patients. Each state has their own definition of what a caregiver is but in general it is the person who provides the care and medical marijuana to their patient. In California, a medical marijuana caregiver is a designated individual that “has consistently assumed responsibility for the housing, health, or safety of [the] patient.” So in California a medical marijuana caregiver must provide cannabis and also assume one or more of three listed responsibilities. Each state is different and it is important to know those differences if you move to another state.

In Colorado, a medical marijuana caregiver is a person other than the patient or the patient’s doctor. They must be eighteen years or older and have significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient who has a debilitating medical condition. Each patient can choose one primary caregiver, who can legally grow, posses, and distribute to the medical marijuana to the patient as necessary.

Caregivers may have any number of patients as long as they meet the requirements stated above. In order to become a primary caregiver in Colorado the patient can to do one of two things:

  • Name the primary caregiver on their registry application, OR
  • Inform the state registry in writing of their primary caregiver at any time as long as they have a valid registry card.

Once the patient chooses one of the options above, the caregiver’s name and address will appear on the patient’s registry ID.

Medical Marijuana Vaporizers

by Anonymouson InformationOctober 17th1 comment already! »

One of the main reasons that vaporizers were developed was to reduce the harmful effects on your lungs and throat caused from smoking. We know that medical marijuana is an effective medicine to relieve pain and/or inflammation. We also know that smoking of any kind of material can cause respiratory problems. The vaporizer produces a vapor which is far less harmful than smoke. The following study by the authority CANORML shows the advantages of vaporizing over traditional smoking methods.

Medical studies show heavy marijuana smokers have suffered severe bronchitis and respiratory infections. Vaporizing marijuana is an excellent way of reducing the irritating respiratory toxins in marijuana smoke. The vaporizer reduces the amount of tar you inhale. Their is quite a bit of tar in marijuana, tobacco and other herbs especially in Marijuana.

Also herbs are smoked on a recreational basis by millions of people across the world. These people can also take advantage of the benefits of a vaporizer.

The effect of vaporizing herbs is generally quite different to smoking. Some prefer the feeling of vaporizing and others prefer the feeling of smoking. Even if you prefer the feelings of smoking, it is very handy having a vaporizer. It can be used from time to time to reduce the harmful affects of smoking. For example if you have a sore throat and would like to consume your herbs. The vaporizer can be used and it should not irritate your throat. Or you may feel that your lungs are congested and need some improving, but you would like some herbs. Then vaporize your herbs and you should see improvements in your health. This is especially the case if you have a cold or the flu. The marijuana/herbs may help to reduce the severity of the symptoms caused by the cold. It may be just to painful to smoke when you throat is sore and lungs are conjested.

If you smoke marijuana and find that you are becoming tired and unmotivated and you do not want to quit using marijuana. Try vaporizing your marijuana and you will get more a of a clean headed high buzz.

Like tobacco, marijuana smoke contains toxins that are known to be hazardous to the respiratory system. Among them are the highly carcinogenic polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, a prime suspect in cigarette-related cancers. These toxins are essentially a byproduct of combustion, separate from the pharmaceutically active components of marijuana, known as cannabinoids, which include THC. When you burn marijuana it produces quite a lot of tar. Pipes and joints generally do not have proper filters. Bongs are not the answer, because you inhale concentrated smoke.

The vaporizer certainly reduces the level of tar. You will not have to worry about the harmful carcinogens your body is absorbing when you inhale marijuana smoke.

How to use a Marijuana Vaporizer

You take your marijuana buds and cut them up or grind them slightly. This helps increase the surface area. You then place the cannabis in to the cup style bowl and adjust the temperature. Each vaporizer is different so read the directions on how to control the temperature. The vaporization temperature will alter the affect of the herb.

How Does A Marijuana Vaporizer Work

As the heat is applied to your herbs the THC resins inside medical cannabis buds gets hot enough to vaporize. When this happens the good chemicals held within the small resins on the plants actually vaporize out into a thin mist (vapor). The vapor starts to thicken as it gathers inside a clear glass dome. The vapor is now ready to be inhaled through a long tube. Once the marijuana has been fully vaporized, you are left with the remains of the marijuana plant. The remaining chaff is the waste product. This is what you would have inhaled had you smoked the marijuana rather than vaporize it.

What Are The Benefits Of A Marijuana Vaporizer

The greatest benefit is that you do not inhale any of the harmful smoke produced by a marijuana cigarette (joint). However, through the vaporization process you still receive all the active chemical ingredients from the marijuana buds you place in the bowl. When you burn herbs harmful chemicals are created. Vaporizing your herbs reduces the number of harmful chemicals.

Colorado Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

by Anonymouson InformationOctober 17thhas no comments yet! »

There are many marijuana dispensaries throughout Colorado. The majority of them are in northern Colorado, but, the largest Colorado medical marijuana dispensary is located in Colorado Springs. The size or location of a marijuana dispensary is not necessarily the most important consideration when choosing who will server you. Not all dispensaries are alike. Some are very professional and look like you are walking into a doctor’s office while others might make you think you are breaking the law.

One thing you might want to do, is visit different dispensaries when trying to make a decision on who you want to purchase your meds from. You want to know that the staff is knowledgeable about the cannabis strains they carry as well as the condition(s) that you may be suffering from and how each particular strain can help your condition. You should feel as comfortable with your caregiver as you do with your physician.

Below are a few questions that you might ask a prospective prospective caregiver.

  1. Are you a Colorado patient? Or JUST a Caregiver?
  2. Have you ever been arrested for drugs or paraphernalia?
  3. Are you insured?
  4. Do you have patient testimonials?
  5. Do you have a business Checking account for your Marijuana Caregivers business?
  6. Is any of the medical marijuana keifed or rolled. (If they try sell you marijuana that has been keifed or rolled ensure that you are not paying top dollar for it.
  7. Are there EVER any seeds in your medical grade marijuana?
  8. Do you accept checks, credit cards, debit cards. (Don’t expect them to take checks)

Now ask yourself a few questions.

  1. Do they really care about me or my condition?
  2. What if I don’t live close by?
  3. Will they be there for me whenever I call? Even late at night?
  4. Do they make the attempt to check on me regularly?
  5. Do they listen to me and show compassion?
  6. Do they keep their word?
  7. Is this a person I can trust?

These are a few things you might consider as a new patient. The care-giving business is really picking up here in southern Colorado and although there may be changes in the future, we all know medical marijuana is here to stay. With that being said, it is important for us to have systems and businesses in place to serve the community.

We invite you to stop by and ask us the questions you need answered. It is our sincere desire to help you find the best care and best quality medicine to help alleviate they symptoms of your condition(s).

Cannabis Strains Available

by Anonymouson Cannabis StrainsOctober 10thhas no comments yet! »

AK47-3

AK-47

AK-47 is one of the most awarded strains of cannabis in the world. Its name was given by the “one-hit” wonder capabilities of the buds. It has an extremely sweet, spicy aroma when flowering, and the buds retain that same fragrance indefinitely when stored properly. It is a cross between 3 sativas and an indica, and as such, is very relaxing and inspirational when vaporized. AK-47 does not seem to put patients asleep or have strong de-motivational effects. However, one patient mentioned that there seems to be no “plateau” effect; the more ingested, the more effect the buds have on the patient. This is an extremely popular strain with those who suffer from glaucoma and chronic pain.

Legend’s Ultimate Indica

The Ultimate Indica we produce was developed in collaboration between Breeder Steve of Spice of Life Seeds and Red of Legends Seeds. It is a cross between the medically valued Ortega strain and Sweet Tooth #3, also a highly prized Indica. The phenotype grown in our gardens has a nutty, earthy aroma and taste. It is a favorite of those who are not particularly fond of the sweet, fruity strains so common in the cannabis world. This is 100% Indica, and has extremely calming effects. It is generally recommended for pain management, and also is good for those with sleep disorders such as insomnia. Although this strain can lull you to sleep very quickly, there is no “cloudy” hangover in the morning, like one experiences with popular sleep-aids on the drugstore shelves. It is very popular among those patients who tend to get anxious after medicating, describing mild “paranoia” and negative thoughts. If a patient has these tendencies, “LUI” (Legends Ultimate Indica) is the strain we always recommend.

Grape Haze

Grape Haze is actually a phenotype of Super Silver Haze developed by crossing Skunk, Northern Lights, and the mighty Haze plant. Our plants do not produce huge amounts, and the buds themselves do not tend to show the insane amounts of resin that our other varieties possess. But don’t be fooled; this is potent medicine! It takes much longer to produce this sativa-dominated strain; but we feel it is extremely worth the extra time it takes. It has a “creeper” effect; the medication takes a moment to affect the patient. It has a tremendous “body high”, and can also be inspirational to the mind. It can also make the patient very social and talkative, and generates good feelings when vaporized. Our plants have a very strong sour grape fragrance, and a nice grape flavor upon exhalation. We are the only producers of this strain in Colorado, to the best of our knowledge. It is a very long-lasting sativa; one of our patients feels its effects for many hours after ingesting a small amount of this beautiful medicine.

Island Sweet Skunk

Island Sweet Skunk

Island Sweet Skunk was produced in Vancouver, BC, and is tremendously popular among the Canadian medical cannabis community. It has a very unique aroma and taste, a skunky start gives way to a citrus finish. Island Sweet Skunk has been shown to produce high amounts of THC (+/- 20%), and the flavor alone makes it a favorite of medical patients. It has very soothing effects on digestive tract ailments, and can almost immediately relieve the nausea associated with chemo/radiation therapy for cancer patients.
